Brakes work quite normal for an hour or two, after which the pedal goes significantly softer, there's an increase in the stopping distance, and the brake light comes on when braking.

The fluid appears to be fine but I haven't checked anything else...thoughts on what to look at?

Check the master cylinder if you do not find a leak in one of the brake lines. Mine did the same thing several years ago. Bought a NOS from either Maranello or Euro Spares. If you have this done be sure to check the small hoses from the brake fluid reservoir to master cylinder. If you replace must be brake fluid compatible. In fact, might want to remove the 3 screws that hold the inside frunk valance below the windscreen and check before you move forward. Not a bad or expensive project. Just a Boxer thing.

    Good luck,

    Drew

Thanks, if it's intermittent could it have anything to do with the proportioning valves? I think on the BB they don't have any sensors and are just hydraulic so I'm suspecting not but you never know :)

Will follow your advice on this and report back...

Could be but I would bet master cylinder first. The brake light will come on if the reservoir level is low as well.

I'm at the end of my pay grade on Boxer brake experience. :) Again, good luck.
