A Birthday present opportunity popped up:

1990's Time Capsule that caught my eye - one of my 90's poster cars and the first model car I remember getting. I've come close a few times over the years but never bit the bullet...until now and have still yet to own a Red Ferrari :)

That is a car that look way way way better in black than red.
Reputedly Enzo said that when a body came out not so perfect they always painted that car red because red hides blemishes and imperfections so well.
In any event imo the world does nto ened anomer red ferrari.
Plus if you like to Drive, then red catches the eye of the carabinieri like a red flag to a bull.

    We know you like reds.

In any event different cars look better in different colors, Trs imo look perfect in black.

Going from other colors are great on the TR to red hides defects and gets you pulled over is just drama.

F used white to hide defects :)

Well, I guess that Enzo wasn't an expert on colors....in the art world (including auto design), it is well known that the lighter a shade is the more the design detail is visable. You can try this yourself, watch cars coming at you from the other direction and see how easy it is to ID them. Black cars really look like shapeless blobs in this context, much harder to identify.

I don't prefer black cars for this very reason. Especially on a Testarossa. For me, shadow gradients that are produced by a car's angles and curves...take the Testarossa's side strakes for example...contribute significantly to the overall visual impact of the car. Ferrari's are supposed to be "dramatic". I feel that you lose a lot of that visual impact when the car is black. You lose a lot of the shadow contrast that makes for a dramatic visual impact. A black car can still be dramatic, and may even be sinister, but important details are masked or hidden by all of the "black". I probably won't own a black Ferrari unless it is a deal that is too good to pass up. For the record, I don't prefer red, either, due to its commonality.

    Any proof of this "theory"?

Also, "design details" is not a synonym for defects.
