I did the same thing ^
We inadvertently “cheaped out” on our 812 by not getting any carbon anywhere. The look we were going for was “elegant”, so none inside or out. On the other hand, we paid for leather wrapped steering wheel with the shift lights deviating stitching, etc. Very happy with the results. On the other hand, SINCE we did the ridiculous paint - Gaillo Triplo Strato - on our C12, we did all the external carbon. Stopped short of painted shields. Gotta have some restraint.
Test drove both coupe and spider yesterday ; styling aside (I am still not sold on the rear 3/4 of the car and back treatment), the driving experience was excellent, felt very refined as compared to my F12. Transmission, steering, suspension very good. Sound was a little better than what I was expecting too. Carbon seats super comfortable. The car feels very usable — can be a great boulevard cruiser, to GT to sports car on a whim, well done. One thing I did not care for what the amount of “flex” on the spider with the top down, it was absolutely noticeable after driving the coupe, thought the structural rigidity of the spider would have been improved, I would even say a 812 GTS top down feels stiffer? Just my observation. Also trunk in the coupe felt quite a bit smaller that what I used to for trips. In a few years, I will probably be sold on it and buy a used one haha , from what I saw nothing that makes me take the (big) plunge now.
