I Would love to see more cars out in the flesh to help with my color choice. It seems that the speciale looks good in almost any color!

 

The paint and livery pricing has become so exorbitant that I’m reconsidering my spec.

I was looking at triple layer paint + triple layer livery and the cost is coming to around 20% of the base price just for exterior paint and livery (stripes and numbers only)

I’m strongly considering doing a standard paint for the exterior and getting a colored PPF for exterior (as I have to do PPF anyway) and do the livery myself with colored PPF. Colored PPF has come a long way and looks indistinguishable from paint, provided the installation job is good.

I don’t plan to sell the car so resale is not a factor. This also would be easier to repair as triple layer paint is hard to match in bodyshops. Also gives me flexibility to change the color spec in a few years if I want to.

 

I just saw an amazing colored PPF wrap at SAGE Auto Studios. I was shocked- how good it looked. They also do CF wrap that is indistinguishable from the real thing. The cost of these items is really out of hand for just cosmetics. The price of everything and the value of nothing?
