Marko confirms: Verstappen was aware of Horner's dismissal
Talking to Austrian medium oe24, Marko immediately makes clear that he does not want to talk about Horner's departure.

When asked whether Verstappen was aware of the impending dismissal, he answered: “Max was aware. I do not want to say anything more about it.”
This was the first time that Marko, albeit reluctantly, commented on how the decision was communicated towards Verstappen about the Briton's dismissal.
According to the German Bild, Marko was himself involved in the decision and was present during the dismissal of the former team boss.

Haas team principal Ayao Komatsu has revealed that former Red Bull Formula 1 boss Christian Horner had sounded out the American squad over a potential role, but exploratory talks have gone nowhere. "Yeah, it is true that he approached us. And then one of our guys had an exploratory talk. And that's it. Nothing has gone any further. It is finished," Komatsu said.

When presser further, he replied: "I've got nothing more to say. Like I said, you write whatever you want. I'm not fuelling that story."

Mark Hughes of MotorSport believes there’s some substance to the Horner-AM discussions. Stroll can shift the inevitable hard decisions about drivers onto somebody else. Teaming Horner with Newey has some synergy too. Regardless of personal opinions of Horner his success at Red Bull can’t be denied. Stroll could be building a team that would be attractive to investors. It’s always possible that some of his partners would like to cash out with F1 team values on the up.

Horner 'ringing up pretty much every team owner' -- https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/formula1/articles/c99g2kpplx9o

He looks lost, lonely and out of the game and is not looking like a calm, cool, collected leader with new ideas to integrate into a complex system and make it better at all.

--Former Red Bull team boss Christian Horner is "ringing up pretty much every team owner" as he seeks a route back into Formula 1, says Aston Martin chief executive officer Andy Cowell.

Aston Martin are among the teams that have been linked with Horner.

Cowell said he had checked the situation with team owner Lawrence Stroll on Friday at the Singapore Grand Prix.

"It looks as though Christian is ringing up pretty much every team owner at the moment," said Cowell.

"I can clearly say there are no plans for the involvement of Christian in an operational or investment role in the future."--

The question is if Newey run away from Red Bull because of Marko or Horner. Also he has gained some muddy reputation, deservedly or not, and big names don't want PR trouble.

He could buy a stake in Alpine. I think he would get along well with Flavio, I see some similarities between them. For good and for bad.

Yeah. These F1 guys are always so transparent…….:D;) There are about half a dozen qualifiers in 22 words. “Plausible deniability” politicians and sketchy lawyers call it.:D

True - but Cowell is in the job Horner was in at RedBull. What role is open for a former Team Principal at Aston. "Special Projects" lol :) Given Newey is a shareholder in AstonF1 as part of his compensation package this could be interesting.

If Horner is smart (IMO) he'll sit 2026 out and let the dust settle around him. The new cars, and their successes and failures, will create opportunities for Horner to find a way back in.

Right. I think that very fact informs his comment. If negotiations were going on he would have said the same thing. I think Stroll will seek Newey’s input on any consideration of Horner.

Nothing in the media at the moment to confirm that.
