I have a 1974 Dino 246GT and need to replace my heater control valve. It is locked. My heater control cable works fine. The valve sits on the passenger side heater box and looks to be a bear to get to. I have searched the workshop manual but found no references on replacing it. I have tried to free the valve up with no success so replacement is my only option. Can anyone give me steps to replace it? Thanks for any help!

Disassembly time I am afraid. Can certainly be done...

On my E series I found the best way was to remove the complete black heater box with valve on.

The fender well has 4 under nuts to remove the black box, disconnect all hoses and linkeage then lift and separate. brake separate and place in a small tub.
There is no way I was able to do otherwise around the blind back side with no leverage - only possible with very small hands

When you get the heater box out be sure to flush the heater core very well. They accumulate rusty sludge over time.

Quick question. Should I drain the radiator first?
