Picked this one up the other day... and, because I like to change wheels on most of my cars - the car is now more appealing to me than from the 15's it came with. At the moment, it is being reupholstered while incorporating Ferrari FF a/c vents, along with a considerable amount of Alfaholics-inspired components and themes. The exterior will also be modified with a GP kit, to get rid of the US spec diving board bumpers. This 1986 GTV-6 will be amazing when done but, here are pics with some of the others taking a peak at the recent addition to the stable. The Town of Palm Beach is actually an ‘island’ accessible by 3 bridges from the ‘mainland’ part of West Palm Beach. There is another ‘island’ to the north but it’s separated by water (inlet with Singer Island) and down south -after X point - considered Manalpan. Once you cross over to the Town of Palm Beach - naturally for those who have never been - there is a road immediately running north/south of the island on the intercoastal side, and another one on the other end next to the ocean. The image I took is on the one closest to the intercoastal (Cocoanut) which has this really cool part to it as you head towards a blind 90’ degree turn. There are many absolutely beautiful areas within the town… and I consider myself incredibly grateful to live within the immediate vicinity.
Kind of a long story but here is a quick version. Probably back around 2010 or so got a Suzuki SX4 as a rental car. Thought it was pretty neat. As the kids got older and moved out we didn’t really need to be driving the van any more. I see Suzuki is pulling out of North America and selling the remaining inventory cheap. Located a 2013 SX-4 Crossover with 6 sp manual AWD in Des Moines IA where my dad lives. It had been a few years since I had driven the Alcan so bought the car and drove it back to AK. Wife immediately falls in love with the car. Everything is cool until December of that year. She is stoped at a stop sign and a guy in a truck slides around the corner and hits her. Initial insurance quote is car is totaled. Wife is bummed. I do a search to try to find another SX4 with a stick. Finally find like the last remaining SX4 stick at a dealership in, it is located in Vancouver BC. Make arrangements to buy the car. Fly to Seattle, take a bus up to the dealership and buy the car. About this time the insurance company said we were wrong to total the car do you want us to fix it. I said sure go ahead. So at this point I have 2 2013 Suzuki SX4s. We get the original fixed and since I work in Seattle I keep the other car at the employee parking lot. With the Covid thing going on I take an early out from the airline. I now need a place to keep the Seattle Suzuki. I ask around and this guy has a big garage and he imports cars from Japan. I was talking to him one day saying how much we liked the SX4 and he says you should look into getting a Cappuccino so we had him import one for us. Looked for a couple years to find a good one as rust can be an issue. Finally found this one, 1997 with 60,000 kms. While I would have liked to get a limited model the pristine condition of this car is why I picked it. It was kept in a garage which isn’t very common in Japan.
