599 GTO production

Perhaps a loaded question in some respects. The car was launched in 2010 and I am assuming most of the production was completed in 2011? Or were some cars produced into 2012?

Has anyone ever been able to determine exactly their exact car number in production, for example say 220 of 599 (yes I know 599 is the official number)? Would this even be possible short of having a full list of chassis numbers/build numbers?

 

I have recently seen a carbon interior door panel removed and on the back of the carbon was a number hence my question, definitely not a parts number and it is hand written.
