One of the longest races, one of the hottest races, and unfortunately one of the most boring races. Even the drivers didn't spend 90% of the race managing their cars, there just isn't anywhere to pass, even with 4 DRS zones.

Mercedes somehow found themselves with a great car. George Russell had a magnificent Q3 to put his car on pole and pretty much controlled the race from the start. Far from being a dominant car so he did have to push but was never really threatened for the win. Antonelli finishing P5 showed the car was good. However he was a distant 33 seconds behind Russell, yeesh.

Red Bull definitely not as strong as they were in the low downforce tracks like Baku and Monza. However, Singapore has traditionally not being a great track for Red Bull. Max complaining about balance, shift issues, and who knows what else so it's pretty darn impressive he was able to finish P2. Unlikely he would have been able to fend off the McLaren's at a track that offers even slightly better passing opportunities. Yuki bringing the car up to P12 is a positive I suppose. Yes he was better in the race than quali and made progress, but he finished a lap behind his teammate.

McLaren probably still had the best car in the race. Singapore seemed to really enhance the dirty air effect yet McLaren seemed to perform the best in dirty air and were as fast or faster than George in clean air. Huge discussion about Lando bumping Oscar on the start. Over-dramatic considering it was a minor moment. Lando had a gap, he want for it, had a couple wiggles and made minor contact with Oscar, big deal. That's racing and kudos to Lando for going for it. If he wants to be a champion he needs to go for those gaps. Oscar crying about it and all but asking the team to swap the positions was pathetic. Oscar has been the better driver all year, so be the better driver and attack Lando on track.

Ferrari another disappointing race. Extra disappointing since Singapore has been one of their strongest tracks in recent years. Charles said he was managing a lot which perhaps could explain some of why he was slow, but he was a long way off the top 4. Hamilton had a poor start on the dirty side of the track and then just didn't have any pace. When it appeared like he did have pace, it turns out he was flat out while others were managing and he cooked his brakes. Deserving received a 5 second penalty for cutting the track on his final lap. Would love to see a full onboard as he had at least 4 track limit violations on that lap alone. Just because you have a mechanical failure doesn't mean you get to create your own track when you are intending to finish the lap.

Aston Martin had a reasonable car for a change. Alonso had some brilliant overtakes in the race, one of the few to do so. Good pace overall. His team once again let him down with a terrible pitstop which cost him 7 seconds, but because of Alonso's good driving he still finished in the same spot. Lance Stroll must hate Singapore, he was lousy. I suppose the team was banking on a safety car because they really murdered his race by keeping him on softs for 35 laps or whatever it was.

Haas was in the thick of the races all day and came out with a P9. Great race for Bearman. He worked hard and beat his competitors fairly, even after getting a good shunt at the start of the race. Completely destroyed Ocon who finished P18.

Williams shockingly got a point with Sainz finishing P10 despite starting from the pit lane. Overall an outstanding finish. Surprisingly they also opted to stay on their first set of tires long and Carlos was even stuck behind Stroll for a number of laps. It's incredible they scored a point. Albon looked like he was doing okay until he had the huge lock up which flatspotted his medium tires and he was forced to go onto a set of softs which too many laps remaining to make anything of it.

RB's just failed to finish in the points. A tough day as Hadjar battled engine troubles of some kind which supposedly cost him 3 or 4 tenths per lap. If it wasn't for those issues he likely would have had a points finishing result, perhaps even staying ahead of Alonso. Lawson did not have such a great day.

Alpine looked pretty bad once again. On the rare occasion, Colapinto finished ahead of Gasly but it meant nothing today.

Sauber back to being one of the worst teams. Perhaps high downforce tracks just don't suit their car. Both Bortoleto and Hulkenberg had issues with contact or spins or whatever, so neither was in position to score points.

Driver of the Day: Fernando Alonso. Exceeded expectations of the car, made some fantastic passes on a track you cant pass, and even overcame adversity from the slow pitstop. Outstanding.

Piastri's remarks were indeed useless, but one can notice he finishes 2s behind Norris in spite of losing about 3s in the pit stop (with a 5.2s stop).
