    Anybody try this?

Low/no Carbs, no sugar, red meat only, etc.?

I know you can't go NO carbs, but I keep reading how great this Carnivore Diet is.

    It's not sustainable.

At least no long term, maybe not even medium term.

And sometimes even short term it's not sustainable. If you dine out socially, either for business or socially, are you just going to order a steak and an extra pat of butter?

What about during the holidays? You going to pass up grandma's famous pecan pie during Thanksgiving because you've gone carnivore?

Do you drink coffee? That's a no-no for carnivores.

Cocktails or a nice glass of scotch during happy hour? Nope.

Regardless of its health (or unhealthy) effects, it's simply too restrictive in our world to be sustainable at any level.

For you maybe, I think I can do it.
I don't drink coffee, I seldom drink alcohol and can do without it.
For some reason I never really acquired the taste for it, and when I DID have a beer/drink,
it is only when I am around others. I dabbled a few months ago in making craft drinks from
scratch, have not done that in maybe 6-8 months.

I can do without cookies, cake, pie - sugar, carbs...

I've researched it a bit since my OP here, I think I will try it in a wierd way, maybe every other day,
or every 3rd day, but the days I DON'T do it I still won't drink pop or sweets - that I can handle...

I have done the carnivore diet twice in its strict guise for 4 weeks at a time. I would suggest you look at it the same way, as the carnivore diet is a diet of exclusion. You will lose weight quickly, it will also get rid of systemic inflammation, which was the biggest surprise to me. Snoring gone, bleeding gums gone, sinus headaches gone - the trick is to transition to more sustainable low carb plan while avoiding those triggers for inflammation. If you pay close attention, your body will tell you exactly what the bad triggers are (for me it was refined carbs).

Making strict notes of the quantity and calorie content of your means is helpful for your long term meal planning,

    Bill
