Some of you will recall that I drove the GTB a week or so ago. Well today I finally drove the GTS. I’m one of those guys that generally feels like the average driver can’t tell the difference between coupe and cabs despite the flex and weight difference. To me, the specific GTS I drove today seemed to have a less sharp on-center feel than the GTB (which I really loved on that car). My inclination is to chalk it up to perhaps a difference in tire pressures, but was curious what other folks have experienced when comparing both. In other respects, they felt nearly identical!

The GTS is about 120 pounds heavier. Also if it is like the 12 Cilindri Spider it will have slightly more rear weight bias than than the 296 GTB version. Depends if the suspension settings are the same on the GTB and the GTS that you drove. You can cheat the factory specification with changes to castor and camber but pay the price with general tire wear if you deviate from factory specification.

With same tires and same pressures a couple of AF GTS I drove felt sharper on-center and quicker turn-in than a non-AF GTB. I have assumed that means GTS and GTB are about the same AF vs AF and non-AF vs non-AF tires, alignment, and pressures the same because of that but maybe not...
