For intros I’ve owned many 912 variants and 1 Ferrari, the F8. 296 has really intrigued me and the reviews of how they drive are all positive. One can be bought at a very good price at this time. Are these cars the duds some have made them out to be? Will their value level off or will they completely die?

I have a 2026 911 GTS 4 allocation with the new t hybrid that is all the rave. Hard to decide between the two.

Any insights from owners on the 296 would be greatly appreciated.

Read up man there’s like a thousand posts praising the car. It’s not hard to decide. The 296 obliterates it.

Haven’t driven the hybrid 911 GTS but I drive a 992 GT3 Touring and recently have driven the 296. I think it’s safe to say that a 296 and a 911 GTS are not even on the same planet.

  4. In what world are people comparing the 992.2 911 GTS to a 296?

That's like asking if my glass of milk, if chilled really really cold, is similar to your artisan gelato. WTF.

Apologies. Just the 2 I’m considering at this time. I’ve gone back and forth with Porsche and Ferrari.

People that own them and spend time in them love them. People that don't own them knock them. Go get some seat time and it should be pretty clear.

Also, head to you local cars and coffee this weekend. See how many people take photos of a 296 and see how many people walk right past a 911 (with the exception of GT3). You can also show a photo of a base 911 and a GTS to 100 people and see how many can tell the difference. Slip in a photo of a 992.1 and see if anyone can tell the difference between a 2020 and a 2026 model.

Now, don't get me wrong, the Porsche is an awesome car but not in comparison to the 296. Maybe if you were deciding between the GTS and maybe the AMG GT63S that would be more comparable.

Been on one for 3 weeks. The GTS allocation came up in between.

Agreed. My F8 would draw a crowd where my Turbo S would draw a select few that knew the car. I do like the inconspicuous nature of the 911 in public, sometimes the draw of the Ferrari is annoying.

  14. This is true for probably all Ferraris' vis-a-vis a Porsche (ex. maybe something like the CGT, 918 or an RS).

Really, this is just a first world problem for Ferrari owners (but then again, I think all Ferrari owners only have first world problems ...)

At the moment I prefer driving my 992.2 GT3T over my 296. The car is much slower but gives me a better vibe.

This is an important point if you are buying a car for all the other people and not for yourself :)

Speaking of that, unfortunately Kia is ending Soul production this year, so if you guys want to get a car to stunt on people, do it soon

While you are on a Ferrari forum you going to get that bias, in this case it is true. 296s are pretty damn bad ass, but they are a Super Car, and I have a Silver one that is under the Radar, but still just looks the part of an in your face SuperCar... so that is a bit not what I like, but I deal with it just fine.

Another thing to consider is that the new Porsches do NOT have a Charger for their Hybrid system which doesn't make alot of sense.... meaning you HAVE to drive, or run it to recharge it, which would be a MASSIVE hassle if you are traveling ever and have to be tied to a Car and making sure you drive or run it for a while to keep its battery charged. For my particular lifestyle that is a hard no.

Additionally if you speak of lost value after buying a 296 you might consider that your allocation is going to drop in value when you recieve it because I assume you are buying it at full pop, and being honest I'm not sure the new Porsche Hybrid is going to go over all that well in the Porsche community since some are complaining about it. But I don't look at the Car as investment, I bought it knowing it could appreciate, and because I liked it more than what was available in the same price range.
