    Just got these in the mail from Classic Auto Spares. The older part number and it looks like they’re dated 2002 on the top in the pic. Is that right? The rubber gaskets look great but wondering about the filter internals… Anyone use filters this old or should I return them? Thanks.

    IIRC, sometime back in the early 2000's there was a problem with UFI oil filters blowing out the gasket that seals them to the oil filter stand. To their credit UFI resolved the problem with a redesign of the filter base which was found to be flexing. There were extensive threads of 308's blowing out the gaskets at the time, some examples.

    I have always used Baldwin B-253 for 25 years, they are available at suppliers for the trucking industry $13-$18 each.

    Yes I read about some gasket issues on some earlier UFI filters but wasn’t sure which part number was bad. I’ve emailed the company to ask about an exchange for newer dated filters. I have the car judged so need to stick with UFI. Thanks!
