I think the limiting step on these EU/Japanese cars to get into the US is getting a letter from Ferrari saying it complies with US rules when they visually don't without even asking (lack of sidemarkers for example). There was a time the cars in the middle east were US-spec and could be brought over easily, but I think even now they have their own variant. If you could get a letter saying it complies and avoid federalization, you would have to pay 25% import duties or whatever the new rate applies to unless the car is over 25 years. That would probably negate all the savings. The Speciale goes for $400-500k in Japan and they have dozens available all the time (not Aperta, regular one).
