    I have a very slight cam seal leak post service last October. ugh, It drips on to the alternator though so over time it could cause alternator failure. I checked the alternator when I checked for leak source and I have the 140 amp denso 156235 alternator. As far as I know the alternator body was larger than the 90 and 105 amp version. Does anyone know of there was a heat shield for this alternator of if the shield #145410 fits (#18 in the diagram) ?

    It would at a minimum direct oil away from the alternator coils like splash guards for jeeps and other cars that have leaky valve covers, they actually make them to deal with oil drips for Mitsubishi's and jeeps.

    I'm revisiting this thread, I just had my Denso alternator rebuilt and I too have a cam seal that leaks above it. Believe I have the original denso alternator and wondering if this shield would fit. Part # 145410. My car is a 1991 348TS, The major engine out service is still a couple of years off.

    Spooky that this threads been resurrected.
    Yesterday I had the fwd wheel liner out to service the roll over valve and check over those other small pipe connects around the fuel vapour canister .

    My 348 a 94 , so later modal had a major( belts ) last November . I have noticed a oil drip , very slight from the usual place fwd cam cover zone . Obviously it’s either the cam cover gasket or seal on the exhaust bank . It’s hardly anything iam certainly not worried or going to attack it or instruct a Ferrari tech to “ have a go “ .

    I think it only weeps when the engine is running ?

    Anyhow “ while in there “ phaffing with the fuel delivery connects , checking over it took me 10 mins with a piece of 2 mm alloy sheet I had laying around to snip up , bend up and fabricate a shield .

    I could see in certain circumstances that oil could find it’s way from the edge front of the cam cover to head interface on to the alternator.The thing still functions …thank fully .

    Through the wheel arch with the liner out I used the main 17 mm bolt as the attachment point It’s not load bearing or structural, just a drip shield .

    I will be keeping my eye on it for drips .

    The other side seems ok as the AC pump appears to be out of the drip range on bank 1 , any drip ( if any ? ) hits the large oil line .
