Independent. A Ferrari dealer did offer to fit the system (i didn’t get a quote) but wouldn’t touch the cats, only xpipe and back boxes
Does the 250 cell capristo exhaust also not give any CEL for superfast? has anyone gotten a CEL with it in GTS? does it sound like novitec or it doesnt have the high pitch?
Ive had 0 CEL or any issue whatsoever in over a year. I initially ran a different setup and had massive issues like CEL and limp mode so I am certain this setup works as it should. I also do not use a plug in for the OBD port. I personally think the Capristo setup sounds better and closer to the classic Ferrari engine note but that’s subjective.
Sorry to ask again, but what is your set up? I think its the 250 cell cats and the x-pipe correct? Which x-pipe brand?
X pipe shouldn’t really matter. They are all basically the same. But I run all Capristo. 250 cats/exhaust/xpipe
Did anyone swap their Pirellie Tires for Michelin Sport Cup 2’s on their 812? I’ve seen a ton of recommendations to do so on here and I’m about to switch over . Curious if anyone has seen a dramatic change or if people are just being dramatic. Service dept recommended as well.
This is a great question and I was wondering the same. My 812 GTS came with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S, and while they're great tires for lower temps and some rain, I never drove the 812 in those conditions, and it's got way too much power for the level of grip they provide. I have a few other cars with Sport Cup 2's and love them. If you respect the rain and drive in temps over 50 deg they give way more confidence than the 4S.
Just switched mine from Pirelli’s to Michelin Pilot Sport 4S due to age (original ‘21) not wear but I can tell a nice difference in a smooth ride. Cup 2’s on the GT3RS. I’ll stick with those on that one.
Yeah I think I’m going to move over to Cup 2’s. I live in SOCAL so no it a ton of rain or cold weather,
I’m planning on switching to PS4S very soon, I have them on my other cars and love them. Cup 2s in the UK would be a disaster but in SoCal I’m sure they would be great - jealous.
I made the switch from Pirelli this spring for the first time after four years of ownership with the 812SF. I went with the PS4S. I can tell you that I wish I had done this sooner. What a difference. Especially when the tires are cold, there is no hopping and violent swinging on full throttle. It's more of a controlled slide, it definitely gives me a lot more confidence.
