Me too! :) It’s a really interesting question. I’m checking the mileage of every car in the UK now (it is publicly available online if you know the VIN or plate). It just takes a while to check them all and enter the data in the register. This one is the highest one I’ve seen so far. The car has been spotted all over Europe, Monaco, Nürburg, Spa, Switzerland etc in the past. Last year it drove 4674 miles. That’s more than the 600k BaT car has driven in 21 years!

Any detail in CarFax on the accident. This apparently sold in spite of the report

Friend is buying it. Did EXTENSIVE PPI with a very trusted person. Paint meter readings indicate no metal paintwork. Rear bumper was re sprayed and reported to Carfax. Pretty silly. Paint meter and PPI should be all that matters with value, IMO.

A lot of these cars have had plastic bumper re sprays and bumps, but when paid out of pocket, they never hit the fax. These cars are 20+ years old by now, my view is these cars all have something against them, whether it’s on a piece of paper or not.

We had an argento here in Japan with blue seats. Doesn't show up in the registry. 2005 model with 28k miles. The paint thickness was almost double normal. It got a classiche cert in the end and was told it wasn't repainted. Apparently Ferrari switched to powder coat primer in 2005. This CS was powder primer coated which was thicker than normal primer then painted as usual resulting in thicker paint and primer thickness. They initially found zero evidence of a respray then they used some fancy paint depth gauge which can detect different layers (clear, paint, primer). Always get a solid PPI. Paint thickness alone may not mean its been resprayed.

This is mainly an issue with metallic cars and yellow for some reason.

The colors best suited for Ronald McDonald.
On a different note, the more that Ferrari releases its new cars, the more I appreciate the old cars.

Some extra info from someone who saw the car during a private collection tour back in 2006:
“The owner flew to the factory and spent the weekend with the employees speccing every aspect of the car”

I have a close up photo of that window sticker that’s behind the seats, but I’m not sure if I’m allowed to post it. Maybe later.

The Cornes edition cars were already pushing it for me in regards to the CS specs. This one, though, is for sure the only CS that I think looks bad. The rest all look good. I didn't think this was possible with limitations on how Ferrari allows cars to be spec'd. I did see Phil's cars a lot at the Celebration car show and liked them, but never saw this one the times I went. RIP.

There is, I believe, a Scud in the collection equally as tasteless.

There is another CS in their collection by the way, it will be interesting to see if that one will be auctioned as well. Not as crazy as the yellow car but still very unique ;)
