To be fair to them the base wheel is 2.6k but then the extended boss from Liuisa 390 and then horn 150 and resistance 40 bring it up to 3180 plus tax

If they did a smaller diameter version close to the Momo I've got now, I'd be in, even at that price.
Thee neck hub (either 30mm or extended 50mm) includes the factory-type "cone neck cover", which I guess is leather.

I saw JK from jamiroquais car out this evening. He had the challenge momi wheel. It looked cool but somehow still not right for the car

Mine (ex-355Bob's car) looks right-ish, but the same size in the factory design would be preferred, but only that would get me to jump on it.

Results of the project were pretty good. High demand item at this stage.

Got one as well, with the extended hub which makes a signifiant difference in drivability and comfort as I have long legs and I can now move my knees freely behind the wheel when getting in and out of the car.
It is not cheap for sure but you get what you pay for.

Torbjörn and his team did an excellent job bringing this forward, i visited him before summer and was welcomed to see more insight of the construction, many hours was put into this before it was accepted.

Yes I have to say the end product looks superb and feels very nice in the hand. Can't wait to fit it. If I ever sell the car which is an airbag 2.7 I will be able to offer both options to the new owner. Airbag or Non. In both cases a working passenger airbag. I feel this is the prefect combination. 2.7 engine with passenger airbag and beautiful steering wheel.

I'd say that 2.7 cars with airbags seem to all come with "reinforced" heads and the simpler single fuel pump set up. Probably more convincing arguments than having a passenger airbag.

Ok that's really interesting I did not know that. Did they also have the steel valve rods ? Mine is sept 1995 chasis 103103. Not sure how I can tell such details.

So you say that some of the 2.7 units with dual ECUs came with single fuel pumps ? How did that work ?

Mine definitely has the "closed" corners on outer head nuts. December 95 build, most likely still on its original bronze valve guides. I suppose only one ECU drives the single pump. Ian who is our master electrician/diagram expert will know for sure.

    From chatgpt: "

Every 2.7 car — including December ’95 builds — has two ECUs, each controlling one bank (and one fuel pump).

Each ECU fires its own injectors, monitors its own lambda sensors, and controls its own fuel-pump relay.

There is no single pump until Bosch Motronic 5.2 arrives (mid-’96).

If someone’s December ’95 car appears to have one pump, it’s either been converted or misidentified — the twin pumps are buried under the right-hand tank cover, and owners often assume they see only one because both pumps sit close together."

Thanks for the clarification. Agreed humans still win hands down. It's like having a very confident but incompetent assistant

AI - garbage in, garbage out.

Back to the topic of the steering wheel. If you live in the US, I recommend reaching out to Torbjorn through “Contact Us” on the von Braun website. He has been responsive and great to work with for placing an order to be imported to the US.
