David Lucas had inherited Nelson's local newspaper in Nelson/NZ, owned a restaurant named "Redheads" and a well-equipped fitness centre operated by his partner Jane.
Lucas bought most of the Ferraris via Adrian Hamilton (Duncan Hamilton & Co.), UK. I was a bit involved occasionally, 35 years ago.

Where did you get these photos? Would love to see closer/higher resolution versions of the garages/photos in town. The teams would park their cars at the garages/dealerships on Main Street and then either drive or trailer them up to the track.

    Good afternoon,
I purchased approximately 6,500 negatives on eBay 25 years ago. Many negatives from various racing series, Can Am, road races, Brighamton, Ferrari Club meeting in San Diego. Various car brands: Ford GT 40, Maserati, Chevrolet Corvette races,

AC Cobra,Porsche,Ford Mustang, meetings with various car brands, F 1 racing transporters, Watkins Glen 1965, street Cars, etc.
    Many never-before-published photos and negatives.

    I hope this helps.

Both Ferrari's had Tyre problems. Niki Lauda could not continue the race after his pit stop the exit lane was blocked.
A Marshal showed him the red flag. The man with the spare wheel is Ermanno Cuoghi Niki's chief mechanic.
Clay Regazzoni gave Ronnie Peterson no change.
