Carmel-by-the-Sea made available an online survey about Car Week and the impact to Carmel-by-the-Sea. You don't have to be a resident...the first question establishes where you're from. I'll be anxious to see if they publish the results and what they are.

I've never been to that area during car week...it's gorgeous during the non-car week periods. With that said, I have zero desire in attending the events there. The YT videos make the public areas look overcrowded and loud and overall not fun outside of the concours.

The biggest problem in Carmel is the complete lack of parking. Unless you come at 6 am there's virtually no parking. I had to park my rental more than a mile away from Ocean Street/Dolores, it was a nightmare. And it gets worse every year.

I have news for you. I pretty much stopped going into downtown Carmel for dinner a couple years ago because parking is so bad. And I'm talking any time of year!

The parking topic is often mentioned in the local paper (Carmel Pine Cone). So far, no practical solutions.

I usually dine either at Pacific Edge@Hyatt in Carmel Highlands or also at Fandango's in Pacific Grove. Or The Bench at Spanish Bay.

The Bench is at The Lodge. Did you mean Roy's at Spanish Bay? I'm closer to Spanish Bay than to Carmel, so Pacific Grove has become my go-to location for dining (like last night)...rarely are there parking issues there!

Sorry, I meant Sticks and Roy's, both at Spanish Bay.
Roy's unfortunately is extremely loud, abnormal noise level. Food is good.
Yes, The Bench at The Lodge.

Carmel food is just ok, Spanish bay has great steak and eggs breakfast, the hotels in Carmel are no better than motel 6, the nicer ones are 1.5k a night but car week is fun. lots of excitement driving around and rallies. laguna seca is awesome, trailer queen car shows are a bit boring, it's like a beautiful woman you never get to make love to. lots of fun people to meet and the golf is second to none. ill be back:D
