    Hi guys, I ordered a new thermostat off of Superformance. It arrived looking like some of the photos attached. I’m relatively sure that the rubber collar that is installed on the thermostat is a protector for shipping but I was hoping someone here could confirm for me that that is the case. I have installed a lot of thermostats but never seen one that shipped like this.

    Curious..there are a few for sale on eBay and most do not have the rubber ring, but some do! ??? Probably better to have it so when you remove yours you can match what was in there.

    Ok, thanks guys. I ordered the top gasket and bottom oring as well. Mine didnt have the black plastic ring around it when removed but I wasnt sure if it was an improvement or something else...
