Has anyone here has been able to punch in their 296 Speciale / Speciale A (Aperta) order yet or received a confirmed build slot / VIN / production date from their dealer?

Per my dealer things seem to be moving quite slowly and no builds confirmed yet. Thought I’d check whether anyone in Europe / Middle East / US has been able to get a confirmed order number (build confirmation)

    Thanks,

Yes, allocation confirmed right after the présentation (aperta), appeared in the Ferrari app right after signature of the purchase order, delivery planned by the end of March. French dealer.

Is the spec of the car shown in your Ferrari app the exact same one as you have ordered? And does it say “waiting list”?

Mine is on the waiting list, the outside spec is ok, the details are wrong (color, etc.).

Yes, on waiting list and outside color and livery are correct. No VIN yet though.

The 296 Speciale launch color Verde Nurburgring is a two layer metallic paint color. I would imagine the journalists should get their chance very soon. Ferrari did a fall event for the journalists when they previously introduced the 296 GTS. ALL those 296 GTS press cars were Blu Corsa. This time the Speciale fleet will wear Verde Nurburgring.

I have to admit, the 296 Speciale Aperta looks fantastic in real life. All I can say is that people should see this car in person, it's so much more impressive that way. Ferrari has done a great job with the design and sound of the 296 Speciale and Aperta. I saw the car in person in Italy during a test drive, along with an F80, and I have to say that the Speciale looks much better and is much louder than the F80, which is ten times as expensive.

The Aperta is really difficult to get. Coupé is possible if you have a good relationship with the dealer and 1 car in the garage, but the Speciale Aperta is very difficult.

Do you know how long dealers will continue to offer Aperta quotas if they receive any, and whether the car will still be manufactured in 2027?

Nobody knows. I imagine the alerts won’t start production until 2026, so into 27 is likely

Why is that the case? Do we think because 296 would have been homologated back in 2021/2022 when the regular production car was first released vs. f80 in 2025 and has to be homologated under different sound regulations?

I think the speciales are under the same restrictions as the f80. When the 812gts came out, it had to use a gpf even though it was an 812.
