328 no start

Hello all

My otherwise very trusty 89 328, died on me when passing over a small speed bump.
I have made a search for solutions, and changed the following parts:
Fuel pump
Fuel collector
Fuel filter
Crank sensor (hopefully never again)
RPM sensor

The engine will start for about two seconds, and then dies- every time

I have tried disconnecting the electrical plug just aft of the air filter box, and then the fuel pump will run when ignition key is turned on.

Not much fuel smell near exhaust, and the spark plugs looks fairly dry.

I have looked at the circuit breakers and relays in the passenger footwell, but is needing advise from someone with a better knowledge of the system.

Did you check the main connector from battery to chassis ? nr 25 on this diagram

Since the problem occurred after a speed bump, an electrical connection is the suspect.

Checking the big red connector as noted is one. There is also a burnt connector at the fuse box that affects the fuel pump that could be the culprit. Common connector issue on these cars.

 

Fuse box. Check the fuse box.

Check also the fuel pump relay . Check for spark & gasoline to narrow down w/c is the culprit .
