I also am looking for clarity as i am unable to make sense of it all about the inconsistency in sound levels for the cars being made in the 2020s. Regardless of GPF or sound regulations, there were cars produced during 2021 onwards that were loud like the STO (after 4K rpm). How did Lambo get around that?

 

It seems Ferrari is alway the most conservative when it comes to things like volume. Wish it wasn't the case.

 

That’s not quite true F12 TDF, Laferrari, 458 Speciale, Competizione are one from the loudest cars.

And F50 and 599 GTO are same level like Aventador SV.

 

Eh, I mean in more recent years. More comparing cars relevant to our discussion. Why can a lambo be loud when a ferrari can’t. A comp is not that loud really, it is a gpf car.

 

Competizione is louder than a Revuelto when you look at the dB. For a new car, a Competizione is loud. Especially from 7500 rpm, the car sounds better than almost any other new car. This is another reason why the cars fetch record prices at all auctions.

To return to the topic, Lamborghini was very loud until the Aventador and Huracan. But the Revuelto isn't that loud either. I test drove both, and the Huracan's successor is quiet. Not really louder than a 296.

458 Speciale is not one of the loudest cars. Sounds great, but not obnoxiously loud at all. There’s owners here that have complained about 812 comp sound.

and F50 / 599 GTO “on same level like Aventador SV”. What does that even mean? They sound almost nothing alike.

 

If someone complains about the sound of the 812 Competizione, they can forget about almost all other cars. The Dodici and Purosangue are much quieter, and a Revuelto doesn't really sound loud either.

Then only the Valkyrie and Carrera GT remain, and perhaps the LaFerrari Aperta.

 

I owned a speciale. It’s not loud. It’s great, not “loud.” 599 gto was the last true loud I think.

 

Puro has dual pane windows. It’s designed to be more quiet. When I roll the windows down, it’s pretty epic considering what it is. I do hope the speciale has an increase in external volume. I anticipate the internal will be quite strong with the double hot tubes and all bare finishing.

 

2k miles in my 458 Speciale and 4k in an Italian before that. No, not loud. Great. But not loud.

 

You’re just naming cars. CGT sounds good inside, better outside. It’s also 20 years old. Valk is a disaster and horrendous inside. LAF Aperta is rare as hens teeth. And also 10 years old. We can just name random older cars. There’s awesome examples of sound.

BTW, if sound is your thing, C8 Z06 is incredible. Sound is better than 458 and Speciale.

 

Yes. Loud is not as important as quality of sound. A mustang with a borla is loud. Challenger/charger can be deafening. Not refined.
