Try NCM insurance, they saved me a lot of money over Haggerty, worth a call. They also insured my wife 's Lexus SC430 as an exotic and saved me about $1,100 a year over Geico.

Picking this thread back up. Wondering if the world has changed substantially over the last year or so.

Bought a Portofino and tried to add it to a my Chubb policy. I have a home, three cars, umbrella and personal articles with them. Chubb refused coverage. Said they don't insure "super cars" which I know to be BS.

Pure rejected because they only insure cars if they can write a homeowner policy. That would be fine, but they don't write in the county I would need.

Hagerty said yes, asked a bunch of questions and then wanted to know my experience with high performance cars. This is my first F car, and I pointed out that my BMW X5M competition has more horsepower than the Porto--and that I have completed some driving classes through BMW M. They didn't care.

As a stop-gap, I have the car with State Farm, who carries a homeowner policy, but State Farm says they do not do agreed value policies.

The broker I have been working with says that American Modern Insurance will write. Leaving aside the believe-it-when-I-see-it part, it seems that AMIG's reputation for customer service and performance is....lacking. Just the opposite of why I have Chubb.

I have no idea what "experience" means. I am pushing 60, so not an inexperienced driver, Car will get minimal miles and is stored at a car club's garage. In other words, WTF? What's going on?

I have yet to call Grundy, but I will.

I have had one ticket in the last three years (faulty front radar antenna) and was hit once in a parking lot at night. I am not exactly a maniac.
