Recently purchased a 88 Mondial 3.2 cab with 67k miles, USA version. I have the hot start issue in that when hot, I have to floor the accelerator and crank the engine for quite some time before it starts. Fuel accumulator just replaced. I have no history of the installed fuel pump, but would assume with the high mileage that it has been replaced. I see that check valves are available.

Attached are a couple of photos. I will in time do a pressure test and some other tests to determine the hot start issue.

Question, does a property tuned and set up 1988 USA Mondial 3.2 ever start easily when hot? Honestly I am afraid to go anywhere where I have to shut off the motor for a few minutes to over an hour. So far I have been getting gas in a can and putting it in the car as am worried about getting stuck at the pump.

    Thanks
    Jeff

Mine starts on the first tick every time, when I have had problems. It's been the startup fuel pump relay, replace both of these relays and check for burns on the wiring on the w connector.
