Point Defiance Park - then lunch at Anthony's (which is inside the park, down at the ferry terminal). And yes another vote for the Lemay museum Jedi
I don't know if its just me or what but I've been disappointed in the Lemay both times I've gone. I don't really care to see old American cars, they're not my thing. I was just there with a date last week and there was one Ferrari and not much else that interested me. On top of that the parking is atrocious, the spots are narrow as are the lanes. They have a whole section closed off that they could use to remedy this problem but haven't in the years they've been open. I'll keep my Italian toys at home until they wise up and take care of their visitors and their cars. Just my .02 cents.
Hey - it's TACOMA... just sayin' ... There's also the Lemay Collections at Marymount (same family name but very different family members who don't see eye to eye with the Tacoma folks)... https://lemaymarymount.org/ They have tons of American cars but there ARE a few "semi-exotics" Gotta remember: Harold LeMay was NOT a "car collector" - he was a JUNK collector. He ran the largest garbage collection service in the region and became a billionaire in the process - he was a HOARDER. The Marymount facility was once his 20-acre dumping ground for his hoard of "vehicles" including trains, military machinery, and every possible piece of junk you can think of. The fact the families were able to cobble a pretty decent museum out of all that crap is pretty amazing. The collection at Marymount is much larger (covering many buildings) and very different. Jedi
