I forgot about your page 12 views, nice. The names become rather tricky as Ferrari is recreating paint colors that were always solid colors in the past. Two examples that come to mind are Metallic versions of the old Blu Pozzi and Azzurro La Plata just to name two. The metallic detail does change the 'look' of the paint color.

Thank you. Exactly, metallic often change the appearance of the color. Perhaps the one that stays most faithful to the flat version is Rosso Corsa Metallizzato, as the flakes are quite discreet.

Hi gents . I’ve decided for a silver / grey color for my 12 cilindri. But i still don’t know which one. I’m thinking between sanu silver and Grigio competizione. Which one would you recommend? I haven’t seen neither live. Thanks

The Sanu Silver has been popular. Here is a good view of the color. This paint is rather bright if that is what you are looking for. The Grigio GTS is a darker paint color by comparison. The bright silver makes a good contrast with the black areas on the 12 Cilindri.

LMP here shared this factory picture of Sanu Silver that shows the contrast with the black parts.

This was an interesting example with two colors. The body paint color is Rubino Micalizzato and the plastic trim is painted Nero DS. The old problem with Rubino is the color washes out a bit in some lighting conditions. Still a very nice effect with a rich look to this paint color. That Rubino makes a nice contrast with all the gloss black trim. The flat black standard plastic just can't create the same effect.

All that gloss black shows better in this second picture >

All of the exterior plastic trim parts require painting.

Does it cost more to paint these parts in Nero Ds vs Nero opaco (The standard paint color for the 12C).

If the cost for the paint is the same and the process is the same, and Ferrari already knows that the customer prefers the glossy Nero Ds look, then why does Ferrari continue to irritate its customers?

Part of the Ferrari tradition? Use headers which will end up cracking within a year. Finally solved . Use window switches which will suddenly snap in your hand. Finally solved . Use the same headliner adhesive which fails in 3 years. Install the FIAMM box of garbage which will go flat in less than 18 months. Use sticky buttons in all cars. And now use ugly opaque black paint in all the standard exterior plastic trim parts including the hood collar (now mandatory)

From what I recall the Opaco paint choice is more expensive. If you only kept the Ferrari for 18 months before getting a new model may of the issues you note would simply be an expense for the second owner. The 18 months was quoted by Ferrari as a typical ownership time. I have never understood the black for the hood collar; it sticks out like a sore thumb once you see it. Then not painting the full livery stripe on the windshield header is another quibble to. Just Ferrari being Ferrari I suppose...

That paint color looks fantastic even inside the factory. Congratulations on the progress of your 12 Cilindri build there!

Congratulations, what a great spec. What color are the wheels? Canna di Fucile?
