There were no 88 MY cars here AFAIK but 87 was the same. They were desperately trying to save the marketplace here after all the emission fires and transmission issues with the 84-85. The 86 cars ere truly awful but they neede to have an automatic choke because of all the fires in the catalysts initiated by people leaving the choke on. Customers also did that op QPIIIs but they never automated the chokes on those that I know of. The UK is where they dumped older versions, leftovers from previous MYs. If you had ever seen the factory in Milan  there were all sorts of half and miss-assembled biturbos in that lot. At least 100.
AFAIK 88 = 87. The big change came in 89, then by 90 a few trickled in and they left the USA market.

I don't think there was any chance this would hit the high mark again, but it really is a shame it went for so little!

BTW - did anyone happen to notice the previous auction? Sold by namdloluap? Did gas0763 not follow through? Did namdloluap acquire it from gas0763? Could gas0763 and namdloluap be the same person?

Whatever happened, I doubt this car sold for $48,500!!

It's been a looong time since the last post and several auctions to catch up on.

Starting with this current one - a somewhat bizarre collection of parts. It would appear to be a 1986 carbureted 3-speed automatic with a date of manufacture of 1/87. I guess it falls into the 1987 Biturbo, but it's not what most people think of when they hear 1987.
