I think everyone is correct that a little persistence works. I did keep in contact with the same sales person. I could have purchased the Sea Dweller from a reseller for almost MSRP in todays market, but I wanted to build that relationship with the AD for the next purchase.

Looking at AD websites, I have to ask. Is Rolex following Ferraris lead of not showing new watches available to purchase?

    Frustrating.

There are no new watches to purchase. ;) Either look at the general Rolex site for all current models and retail price or go to CPO and pay 50% over market. :D

I don't get or understand all this "build a relationship" stuff. Its a watch. The dealers are playing a stupid game. They sell back door to known after market guys. who then put the watches up on various gray market sales chats. maybe the CPO thing will help but its still stupid. There is no way I would buy a watch I dont like, just to "try" to get a watch I want. those that do this, think they are saving $ but in the end you are paying the Gray market premium one way or the other. Its the same with Patek. I am fortunate to have the watches I really want, and the only one that I don't have thankfully is still depreciating... I know a lot of watch guys, and they almost never go to an authorized dealer, but buy from independent brokers. the last Rolex I bought a few years ago was a James Cameron Deep sea... it was un worn new m.y. 22... and I paid $13K. had the watch immediately. happy to pass on my "guy" in PM .

No, the people with a relationship are getting watches at retail unlike the CPO or grey market buys. Rolex is a little better in that sense as even the lesser models hold up closer to retail. With Ferrari you have to buy several models that off lot will be worth less than retail plus add in the track driving or challenge and other programs to really get the good cars.

I also think the AD is way to go for like the Sub No-Date I want. The watch might only sell $500-1,000 over retail grey market, but why rush when I should be able to get one from AD within 6-12 months.

Got the call today! Swiss is new additional 32% tariff suspended to June but added a base 10% tariff. Bad timing but love the watch. Will pick it up Friday or Saturday. Going to place another order at that time.

Wasn’t your first visit June of last year? 10 months ago. Do you think you’ve made progress? Genuinely curious.

who knows, one last year doesn't really count as it was a dud, I'm more optimistic about the female salesman in January. already exchanged emails, so I can check in anytime I want, most likely at 6 months. I bet Southlake is a tough AD as lower supply and higher demand.

So, just informed by another user that my local AD lost their AD. Not sure the details, but they will no longer be an AD. I guess something was wrong to begin with or Rolex trying to push out the smaller independent AD's.

Rolex is moving to boutique stores only. Place I get/got mine from was independent jewelry store with AD section. In order to keep Rolex, they had to build separate boutique location or lose Rolex license.

    Interesting.

That will affect a lot of jewelry stores that had Rolex as there “anchor”.

The one I was referring to ( Bitzen’s ) lost Rolex at least five years ago. I have no idea what happened, but I sure miss having Rolex a mile from my old house with nice staff that knew me.

Sorry to hear about AD close to home closing. On a positive note about mine, my salesman still works at the independent jeweler and via computer can see what models are coming in to the boutique and can alert me. Only drawback is in order to take so called delivery, I have to drive across town and met him at the boutique location where his store is close by.
