I have gothspeed cv heat shields installed on my 355, it looks like one of them warped from heat, etc., and it warped just enough for the edge to cut itself into the passenger side cv boot. It's not a terrible to inspect them every season and make sure the bolts havent loosened themselves or that they havent warped like mine did.

I made my own heathshields with sheets of aluminium. They are based on the shape on the original shields but protrude way more above the shafts and I think protect much better the shafts and boot ends.
I am not convinced that almost totally "closing" the volume around the boot is a good idea and may even have the opposite effect of what is desired as these shields are heated up by the exhaust and may act as an oven around the boots, thus the need to keep some opening below for air to somewhat cool down the boots. Granted warm air coming from the rads will be way hotter than ambient air but will still be way cooler than heat radiating directly from the immediate proximity of the exhaust.

I was tempted to try Zircoflex form structural heat shield to make some when i had my heat shields off recently. I just recovered what i had in the end as they were fine, other than looking tatty.

    bit of bling
