Buffalo has a very weak secondary and offensively they are unable to stretch the field so they’re not a deep threat. Some of that is injury driven but they’re not making effective changes to address issues either.
So if the playoffs started right now, the top seeds will be Indianapolis and Tampa Bay. And they are both led by quarterbacks who seemed to be failures until they got to their present teams.
Buffalo - is a lot like Kansas City in that respect. A BUNCH of speed guys that depend on yards after catch, but neither have a guy they can throw 'the long bomb' to, ala Chase, Jefferson, Metcalf, Evans, Allen, Harrison, AJ Brown, Nico, Odunze, etc. the difference between Puka Nacua and DaVante Adams.... Puka, St. Brown, Ladd McConkey, all great - none do the long ball well. Both are really good TEAMS that seem to be making few mistakes, ie penalties. How you balance the players/feed all the mouths without getting someone pissed (like AJ Brown in Philly), I have no idea. Indy has three excellent WR's - how do you get them the ball? They won't win you any fantasy leagues, but they are winning games.
I keep sayin', parity is unreal this year. There are only four teams I see that really suck, and most of it is coaching. Vegas, Tennessee, New Orleans, and the Jets. Sorry, but Pete Carroll comng back is going to turn out just like it did when Joe Gibbs came back... not good, New Orleans needs a QB as do the Jets (and Vegas), and Miami is just outside these four, but close. And I am very surprised Cincy won - every metric said they would get killed.
PS - Pittsburgh had all game long to figure out how to slow down, if not shut down Jamar Chase, but they didn't. That questions Pittsburgh, their defense, and their coaching. Other teams have slowed down and even stopped Chase, and Pittsburgh couldn't....
