Are there any tips or tricks to get this apart.
I have taken the circlip and transverse bolt out, but the centre shaft is still stuck

I am tempted to just buy a new one, but these damn browser searches these days with their stoopid ai, tends to return junk.

then there’s the matter of removing the reservoir without snapping the feeds…

Could be wrong but I believe it just a hard rotating pull at this point and I would take the reservoir off first.

    I agree 100 %

you may push in the center shaft and let it snap back several times to get it out. but be careful a lot of other parts then also comes out. there is a lot of debris inside that impede to get the piston out

I think the back washer/plates is pretty rusted in..
The piston/shaft moves, but no luck so far sliding everything out..

Buy yourself a can of gunk and let it sit for a week. You will be surprised what it comes out looking like . Then go from there.

Update, I have attached a pic for reference on how it all assembles internally.

the fault to make me disassemble this was that there was no pressure being applied to the rear. The fronts were fine.
I have circled where the jam was.. that secondary spring was jammed compressed. ‘the picture now shows it unjammed.

I am sure I can find seals for this, but not sure where to locate the seals for the reservoir.. I destroyed them on removal.. they were toast anyways.
Any sources for this are welcomed ….

the bore is perfect still, so will give it a light hone.

I think this all stems from not being able to access the rear reservoir chamber to clean it, like the front, so it builds up gunk, which flows to that section of the master cylinder..
Or you could just flush more regularly like you’re supposed to ….. still, you can’t access that chamber.

I can’t think of what it does to the clutch cylinder as it sources from the same chamber.
Been think of giving the clutch its own reservoir.

It builds up gunk because it has not been serviced regularly. The source of the gunk is the clutch. I have been working on Ferraris professionally since long before the TR was made and have owned one for 25 years and never once seen this issue. Now you want to reengineer the car for a non existent problem???????
Yet another case of why I do not let clients buy owner maintained cars.

Does anyone have a line on where I could get these rubber grommets, for the installation of the reservoir?
Any other car make that might be compatible?

Does anyone know the brand and model number of this master cylinder?

Back on it.. everything cleaned up beautifully, ready for assembly.
Ordered the seals from Europe, and if you look at the diff, the originals have an inner lip cut into them.
First thought is they might seal on the inner diameter, but the inner shaft is so much smaller, the don’t flex enough to touch them.
The new ones don’t have that cut.
I even found a set locally that was 1/4 of the price.. same thing.
Got to love local pricing, as there is no extortion on shipping, and they don’t carry a Ferrari tax.

and I will be separating the clutch with its own reservoir.
Its one less failure point.. it will just dirty itself and not impact the brake reservoir.
It will make cleaning it’s reservoir easier
