Sold Schedoni luggage set for Mondial T

Correct, I don’t have a spare… But that’s where the tool kit, sun shade and my aftermarket car cover goes!

I heard back from Schedoni yesterday and this is what they wrote (which also has some intriguing information too!):

I hope this message finds you well.

I am Franceska, Barbara’s colleague and I’m writing on her behalf.

Regarding the interior lining there’s not too much to do, at that time Ferrari was asking us to use this type of material which was washable as it had a layer of natural rubber (lattice) on its surface. Unfortunately, with the passing of time the surface deteriorates.

However, we are pleased to announce that we are working on a new project, “Programma Schedoni Rinnova”, a dedicated renovation and certification service. This initiative will allow us to refurbish original Schedoni luggage sets using authentic materials, providing a way for owners to preserve and restore their unique pieces with full respect to their heritage.

If “Programma Schedoni Rinnova”, interest to you, let’s ketch (sic) up in May/June 2026 for further details and booking information.

In the meantime, please find attached an archive picture illustrating the arrangement of the Mondial T luggage set in the rear trunk.

Additionally, we have included a picture of the individual piece, which is ideally intended to be placed in the front trunk. Should there not be enough space available, it can alternatively be positioned behind the seat.

Thing is, the indicated pieces (in a PDF format) isn’t anywhere near capable of fitting in the trunk! Not even close! Since you mentioned they came from Germany, maybe they’re sized for a Euro car trunk?… But I can’t see how the cars are different. By this time, Ferraris were built to meet all market requirements.

If Ferrari asked them to use a washable lining, they should have used one which didn't fall apart, like other Italian manufacturers.

In fact, before the interior that falls apart they had used one which was washable and doesn't fall apart.

And after the interior which falls apart, they used one which was not washable and still fell apart, albeit in different ways.

They've been talking about this for at least a year already.
You can be sure of one thing - it will cost more than buying another set.

Like Classiche it will squeeze more € for some paperwork. Hopefully authentic materials means not original.

The PDF trunk pics are from a 3.2 Mondial.

There are differences between EU/US/CH/SA etc cars. May affect the trunk depth as it did on other Mondials and 308's.

 

The PDF is indeed a copy of the 3.2 series but they amended it by including the second photo of the “T” bags and numbering them. Although the overall shape/size doesn’t seem to match the 3.2 series. I have only seen a few sets of “T” luggage for sale before and what I have here is a proper set.

The Mondial T should be a universal market car as by this time, most jurisdictions required emissions control so cats needed to be designed into place. Only a few Euro countries was it an option with “test pipes”. But the structure/chassis was the same. This should not have changed the floor depth….

We will keep the comments about these “restoration services” to ourselves! Ha! To be honest, a quote I got from a local leather repair shop here in Vancouver would cost me $10K CAD, labor and taxes included. It would be cheaper for me to fly to the Philippines, Vietnam or Indonesia, take the luggage with me as cargo, have an awesome 14 day vacation, have the bags re-lined there and come back home for a fraction of that quote!

 

Can you fit any of the suitcases in the trunk by lying them flat - bottom facing the front or rear of the car?

This is the factory brochure cards showing the T set, with part numbers - one for each color and either coupe or convertible! Maybe this is the Coupe luggage?....

 

This is interesting, the section of the chassis that is fixed as a part of the bodywork - and which defines the shape of the trunk (floor and firewall), is the same part number for both Coupe & Cabriolet and also looks to be valid for different markets too, including the USA...
