Debating a second set of wheels for winter/cold weather tires only and a summer only set.

Easiest is one set, all season that are ok all year, and also good to lower temps in the 30s (F).

Any recommendations? Anything new out there in the tire world?

I have 2 sets and winters in Seattle are pretty mild. The way I see it is all seasons are an all year compromise. I’d rather have the best possible traction.

I bought my FF to specifically go out in the snow.

I bought my FF with the express purpose of driving it in the winter. So I bought a used set of OEM wheels on eBay at a good price and mounted Michelin Alpins.

Sometimes if the salt is particularly heavy, I won't take the car out. I keep one of those flexible expanding hoses which are great in freezing temps and regularly spray especially all around the wheels, brakes, behind the wheels, the radiator and the under panels. I'm sure I don't get all the salt, but I try.

Ive had my 360 out in the snow twice but yet to do the FF. Maybe this year. If summer weather ever ends. It’s still in the 80s here.

I see the Michelin Alpins on Tire Rack. They're the smaller width tire, do they fit the FF wheel? Not sure if all FF wheels are the same size. I have the 20" diamond cut wheel and the P-Zeros on it are the larger 245 front and 295 rear.

Yes, they fit the 20" wheels, which is what I have. It is actually better to have a slightly narrower width. That results in a smaller contact patch with more pressure per square inch, thus better traction in snow.

Guessing you're running the DWS 06 Plus year round? Even with the slightly narrower size sure it's plenty capable.

I'll most likely skip snow driving also, they put down coarse sand and dirt stuff along with salt/brine so it gets really messy along with high potential for bumper dings. So thinking a tire that handles lower temps plus good for summer. Two sets is still the best option.

Top of my list for one set.

Do you use them year round or have second set for summer?
