I am 6’2”. Had racing seats in 458, great fit. I have regular seats in my 488. Short on headroom. Both are spiders. Do I need racing seats if I get a 296 GTB?

Oh boy. I didn't even think of this. I'm 6 feet and I ordered my GTS with regular seats. Am I going to have an issue?

You'll be fine, I'm same and great in comfort Daytonas. McLarens felt tighter in terms of head room.

I'm heading over to the dealership to try a car with regular seats on Sunday when they do the viewing party. Thanks for saving me sleepless nights, since my car is built and being tested, it would really stink to wait two years for a car that I can't sit in with the top up.

You should be good I went comfort seats in my EVO and gave up 2 inches but still fit. Have to slouch a little to see out at stop lights. I'm 6'2" I have sport seats in my 296gts and see fine. I could even give up a few inches so you should be good.

The additional 2 inches I have makes a difference. If I was two inches shorter @ 6 foot, reg seats would be fine. I “fit” in what I have, but don’t care for it much.

I am only 5’8”. I prefer to have my legs fairly flat in sports cars . In my GTS I have ventilated full electric seats . With the back reasonably straight I have less than 1/2 “ behind the back of the seat and the rear bulk head . I would not like to be 5’10” or above in these seats

At 6’2”, you’ll probably be fine in the standard 296 GTB seats for everyday driving, they’re fairly accommodating. The racing seats sit lower and are great for track use, but they’re fixed and don’t offer much height adjustment, so definitely try them before committing. For most road use, standard seats should be perfectly comfortable.

I think there is a lot that has to do with preference. We had a 488 with racing seats. The driver had the lifter which worked well for me. The racing seats are designed with a helmet in mind so the headrest is a bit far back for my taste. Since I don’t generally drive around with a helmet, it made sense to me to have the comfort seats in our F8. My wife, on the other hand, likes to stretch out her legs and the passenger footwell in these is shorter than the driver’s side due to the 12V battery. The comfort seats cut down her leg room and she found it to be uncomfortable because she feels cramped.

So, it seems to me to be a personal preference more than anything else. That being said, our Speciale and 849TR will be ordered with racing seats because I prefer her riding along! :)

At 6 feet I sat in a 296 with comfort seats today. No problem with clearance. I think an additional 2 inches would be fine, I have a long torso (that's a nice way of saying I have short legs)! I also drove a 12 Cilindri with racing seats today, so if I end up getting a 849, I think I would spec those...they are pretty comfortable as far as racing seats go.
