No...it's an easy job, just remove the nut and pull the wheel

This video is helpful but does not include removal of the steering wheel boss, which I believe is necessary with the von Braun wheel. I think that is accomplished with the specialized nut removal tool and wheel pull kit I mentioned. Going to USGP this weekend so going to try to change mine next week.

Yes looks that way. Let us know how it goes. Treated my new Braun wheel with Ceramic protector and it's ready to go on.

No special tool needed, just use an impact driver and correct socket size

Today was my first proper drive with the 3 spoke steering wheel with extended hub and I must say it's brilliant. At 6"3 I had never really found a satisfying driving position with the original 4 spoke steering wheel but having the steering wheel closer now makes a world of difference in terms of comfort but also with the control of the car as it allows for making smaller and more precise inputs to the point that I actually think the steering is brilliant now whilst it always seemed over assisted before. In retrospect it is pretty obvious that driving with the elbows a little more bent was going to improve the control but that's not something I thought about when ordering the 3 spoke wheel. Again, a well worth upgrade.

Looking forward to same. I ordered the extended hub too. I'm only 6 ft though. Did you fit it yourself ?

Ps if you love it you might want to ceramic coat it too like I did to protect

If it took me more than 30 min to fit it that'd be the end of the world.

@ Lesplaces , is your car an airbag variant? If so maybe the guy who quoted 4 hrs is factoring in air bag paraphernalia to deal with . I thought you recently purchased the late 95 2.7 but with an airbag from JP ?

Haha yes it is but the new wheel comes with the resistor so planning to leave the passenger bag in place . I've seen a video on disconnecting the old driver airbag, looks like 5 mins. Will ask them why so long.

Is it something ( disabled airbag in situ ) that your insurance Co needs notifying? . Aftermarket wheel too ?
Thinking after a major accident claim the accessor spots it at the salvage yard ? Pulls the “ you didn’t notify us as per clause XYX “ = invalid policy?

Yes I checked all that and got it in writing from the insurer. Not a problem for them. I will keep the old wheel rather than sell so if I ever sell the car I can offer a new buyer the option.
