I recently bought a 2003 Ferrari 575M Maranello (F1) with about 15,000 miles. The car drives and shifts beautifully at speed — all upshifts and downshifts are clean and quick — but I’m having a major issue when starting from a stop.

Whenever I engage 1st gear and gently press the throttle, the car jerks violently a few times before it begins to move. Once it’s rolling, everything is completely smooth. The same issue happens in reverse: the car shudders or bucks unless I apply more throttle than I’d normally want to, which then makes it leap forward/backward abruptly.

    Additional info:
    • No warning lights or error messages on the dash.
    • No fluid leaks.
    • Car behaves the same when cold or warm.
    • Once moving, all gear changes are perfect.

Has anyone experienced this with their 575M F1 or similar F1-system cars (360, 612, 430, etc.)?

    Thanks in advance,

    Sounds like clutch/flywheel issues.

OK I take a different view - you are new to F1 and are not giving it enough throttle fpr the clutch to engage correctly - go to youtube or 360 or 575 sections here and look for videos on how to drive F1 - I may be wrong and there is a fault but you need to rule this out
