Timing belt hanging over tensioner

    Belgium (part origin of Belgium also)....to a F-chat member. Luckely this member did have a phone number of UPS (some sort of help-desk) and after answering some questions, they reduced the amount of import duties from $428 to $58. They asked if that package contents "steel, aluminium or copper" ? He answered "only plastic"! Otherwise the amount would stay at $428....
    So, you see, if you have the right reaction (and luck) to inform you well, those tariffs are variable.
    My lesson learned. As long as those rules stay in place, I will not ship to the US.

    Is it still possible to get a cam locking tool for 2V cars?

    I am struggling to get the cam pulley bolt to break free. I have folded down the locking tab of the washer. The main problem I am having (I think) is inability to properly secure the camshaft on my bench.

    I decided against the match book cover approach with the camshaft installed in the car. There were posts here about broken/damaged cam caps.

    If I can get the camshaft secure, my preference would be to use a breaker bar instead of air to remove. I also have a 4-foot piece of pipe that I can put over the breaker bar if it's really stubborn.

    Air tools and now some electric impacts are a wonderful thing. They are so good there is a chance I could hold the shaft in my hand and spin that bolt out. A very mild grip on a padded bench vise would be no match. You are more likely to cause damage with a 4ft bar!

    Wrap the cam shaft with several layers of rag. Put it in a vise. Apply an impact wrench. It would be crazy to bring out your 4 foot long cheater bar.

    Ingersoll Rand makes smaller but even more powerful ones. This is mine and it was a breeze to loosen the pulley nuts or the ring nut on the clutch job. Or many other stubborn bolts or nuts like for example the crankshaft pulley bolt.

    I have that IR wrench.. I hardly ever pull it out of the tool cabinet anymore. Having to drag around an air hose is such a ... drag.
