Has anyone kept track of how many totaled or salvaged 458 Spiders Hardtops and Speciale's? I just googled wrecked 458 Ferrari and I counted over 70 different 458 Spiders and Speciale's that come up as burned up in fire or flooded totally or wrecked very badly. These are just the ones I can find on a quick search. With such limited numbers of the Speciale and 458 Spider's world wide and around 5000 total imported to USA. I would have to wonder could 20% or more be totaled or salvaged or parted out? How many of them are in USA and with the steering wheel on the correct side for us? Makes you wonder how many pristine examples of these cars are left if so many 458's were driven hard and damaged?

I wonder if anyone has kept track of public salvage and total loss 458's? Seems to me these cars might be more rare that I orignally thought.

I would imagine that Hagerty and other insurers probably have some cumulative running total of 458s they have insured over the years. The numerical difference between the "peak" value and today might be an indication of how many cars went to the big wrecking yard in the sky. And, of course, that "remaining" number might also need to be adjusted for how many 458s were exported from the US to elsewhere, which is still another number counting exercise.

Another confirming ballpark stat is probably State Registrations, which only big data processing firms would have access to the underlying yearly data.
