I had a purple Diablo se30 and God that car was amazing. Plus I could sit in the car parked for hours just enjoying that it was mine God I loved every detail about that car.

I have to admit, I have often wondered whether a 6.0 may have left me with a different impression. They do look fantastic.

I dont want to derail this thread, as its had such a useful dialog.

I know there are off topic threads elsewhere on Fchat, but perhaps a dedicated off subject or other makes thread within the 456/550/575 forum would be okay too, as we all have that common bond and are somewhat familiar with each other's names, writings and past.

We are Curated was a really neat place
It was packed in with some very impressive cars. Didn't get to talk with anyone there. We could hear them upstairs in a meeting, but also no one minded us hanging out looking either..

Sweet mother of V12s…to me, the Diablo 6.0 is the definitive 90s supercar. I know the F50 and F1 are considered the top dogs but truly these face lifted Diablos are all I could ever want. I’ve never had a chance to even sit in one however so I have no idea if they are as incredible to drive as they are to look at. Regardless - you are one lucky man!

Well if you’re ever in the Midwest just drop me a line (assuming it’s done/ready of course); my 575 has a full exhaust + OEM upgrade brake/suspension like (if I remember right) you were exploring for your car

I have said it many times.....there are NO DEALS on BaT.....too many eyeballs......HOWEVER....... @ketel well done! Hope you start a dedicated thread for this car.

I would also say that MANY times @otoupalik has said....ending an online auction on a weekend is a bad idea and it is amazing the seller let this one go today.

Congrats @ketel, you have been looking for awhile and we will be excited to see what you think when you pick it up......heck if you have your heart set on a manual you could just leave it in SoCal with @Joel Delman mechanic and have him do the conversion.

10/19/25 a 2003 575 F1 SOLD at $90,000 with 19,026 miles -- out of Norco, CA with an Arizona title (hope it passes smog...did last Jan 2025...should this time)
    +) ZFFBV55A530133710 and Assembly 50924
+) Argento Nurburgring over "Beige tradizione" with contrasting daytona style seats (I liked the look of those) and a leather rear shelf.
+) MODULARS! with tires date coded 2022 and red calipers
+) shields, aftermarket head unit with apple carplay & polk audio speakers (factory stereo included)
+) about a year out from needing a belt service
+) Auction notes: March 2011 entry on the Carfax report lists an accident involving a parked motor vehicle that resulted in damage to the rear.
+) The rear quarter window trims are said to be aged, and paint touch-ups have been applied over chips.
+) battery, fan regulator, and thermostat were replaced in 2024.
+) three fobs, including the red master
+) invoices from 2021 from bay area Patrick Otis and Roselli
    +) 133710

What is NOT to like on this "driver"....the reported accident was way back in 2011....this was a good buy.

That was a DEAL. Had it marked to follow - I usually just set it to see final cost on various cars to follow my interest in the specific markets - but that would have been a car to bid on. I thought the days of sub $100k 575M were done.

Was an incredible deal... Market is very soft on these cars (and many others) right now. Wish I had more space in the garage and a more forgiving wife, great time to be a buyer.

    Thanks, Ferrari55whoa...

Yes, I've had a 575 in my sights for a looong time but they've eluded me....until today. Gated would be the unicorn spec, but can't justify the premium for a factory OEM gated 575, and the conversions are getting really good now if the mood strikes me.

After I get some of the niggling things addressed on the vehicle and get it brought up on services, etc, I want to enjoy it with the F1 for a while. I might change my mind about the automated manual systems, but even if I don't and I end up springing for a manual conversion anyway, at least I'll have had the experience with the F1 and have a good basis for comparison.

Thanks for all the support. Looking forward to lurking on this forum going forward in addition to my participation with the 360/430 forum since I have an '03 360Spider 6-speed too.

Now with the 575 on its way, the stable is coming together!

Welcome to the party! The 575 tends to a rather robust car for the most part. The main things being the lower bearing and F1 pump relay beyond the usual belts/major.

That's why you convert it! No more F1 pump relay :)) I had someone buy the parts from me to convert his 575 and he sold his 575 after he converted it for a net profit. Can't lose when doing a conversion. Way more fun, way more reliable and better resale value. I have another set up if some is interested using all factory parts in the classifieds here at FChat

YES YES YES - conversion is the key! Especially at this price. Nothing is better than click-click-click all day long!

You are just parking money (as you will always make it back) and you get to enjoy a gated manual!

I just have to say, as each new Ferrari is released, I have an ever-growing sense of satisfaction and contentedness with my 575M. Between the OEM conversion and Fabio symphony, it really is evolving into the pinnacle of what a touring sports car could ever be in my mind. Is 2004 too new to say "they sure don't make em like they used to!"...

The 849, Purosangue, and 12 Cylindri just really feel like Ferrari has abandoned the brand's magic altogether (let alone the Eletricca or whatever it will be called). While there had been a demise of the brand before, and subsequent revival by LdM, the new context of being publicly traded inherently means the cars will have to be compromised moving forward. No degree of convincing marketing can help that. The only hope of revising the strategy is eroding demand, which will be primarily driven by tremendous depreciation of new cars.

Wherever you land a dart on the spectrum of 550 and 575 pricing, they are still anywhere between 1/2 and 1/10 of the new regular production cars and that feels like a tremendous value - particularly if you revere what made Ferrari historically great. Obviously these cars align with my enthusiast profile so I see things a certain way, but I really like the value of these cars at the moment.

I don’t know. I spent some time driving the 12 cylindri we had a Ferrari event. It was pretty good. I prefer the 550. But I would not say Ferrari lost the way. I like the new direction.

The 575 remains the 'bargin' of the v12 coupes, likewise 456 of the 2+2 GTs.

I drove the 12 Cylindri and it was spectacular. I don't think they have lost their way on that model. The others are a different story for a different thread. It's also a 600K-750K car. When talking value, the 575/550-F12 sweet spot is big. Amazing driving cars that are superb V-12's. Whats great is each has it's own distinct style for what different people may enjoy.

It’s all relative. I have 812/F12 owners tell me that it is softer/more numb relative to the 812 let alone F12. Personally, though I agree with you and I think people are starting to split hairs on what can be safely enjoyed on public roads…

We are way past what can be done on public roads! Lol.

the 12C is not soft imho. And I drive lots of stiff and race cars. The 12C chassis was so much better than any f12 or 812 I have driven (not including numbered car versions)

as for value, it’s damn hard to argue that a sub 100k 575 isn’t the very best deal on 4 wheels PERIOD

It ain't soft at all. I drove it pretty damn hard and have a lot of seat time in 550/575 as well have driven F12 and F12 TDF. I went in wanting to dislike it and came out totally impressed. But I agree with Brad, sub 100K 575 is an absolute gem.

I felt the same with the 12c. I like the styling but was completely expecting to hate the driving experience. Having just done 12 hours straight in the 550, I have a pretty good baseline. I could easily enjoy the same 12 hours in tue 12c. And the sports seats are awesome.
