    Dear Testarossa enthusiasts,

My 1986 Testarossa is completely red and is missing the black trim on the sides and the black lower spoiler.
I want to restore it to its original condition.
Does anyone know what the original black paint should be?
    Is it gloss or satin?
Even if it is black, is there a color code available?

Thanks in advance for your input.

    Carlos

I not know the difference between gloss and satin. for me it is the same. and there is then also semi gloss what looks like satin. so satin is the same as semi gloss?
    may be translation problems?

I'm not trying to be silly, but I have found that Krylon "Fusion" All-in-One, Satin Black...

...is a nearly perfect match for the black trim on my 2006 Ferrari 612, and it is durable as well. It can be decanted into a touch-up spray guy to make it easier to apply for large areas. I haven't tried it on my 1989 Testarossa, but I will soon. The black trim on my Testarossa looks the same as on my 612. Apart from that, the company "SEM" makes satin black trim paint especially for this purpose, but is significantly more expensive.

Originally it was flat. Flat gets glossier as time passes. I have never seen a satin that looked correct.

    There's also eggshell.

Eggshell's sheen is glossier than flat but duller than satin

Turbo Joe has minor problems with translation to German.
