An executive at one of the other major tire manufacturers recently told me that re-entering F1 would not be a priority since the profit supplying teams is not significant and the ROI (=sales directly related to F1 marketing) is not significant either. Since 2011, when Pirelli became exclusive supplier to F1, it has never increased revenues greater than 4% (excluding Pandemic volatility and one time charges). In about half those years, revenues decreased. PIRC's earnings in 2024 were less than in 2012. As an investor, their stock price today is about the same as in 2018 with (my description) an inconsistent 4% dividend yield. In sum, I like their products more on my vehicles than in my portfolio.
