not big as Caitlin, but A'ja and Breanna some good draws. The entire WNBA is up 10x just because of Caitlin though and some of it the hate she gets from opposing players. the games are exciting when they hard foul her and play rough, but she still beats them.
This is why WNBA is awesome right now! Preseason and they are playing 5x harder than the NBA plays in the regular season. Caitlin Clark with the triple double and flagrant foul on Angel Reese!
I hope they keep it up. The game is sooo much better than the NBA, where they sleepwalk until about 12 games left in the regular season, then try to make it into the playoffs. I love the fact they play hard, but the last thing they need is to 'take out' a Superstar - no matter who it is. Like her or not, Angel Reese IS a draw, and there are a handful of others, they cannot afford to lose anyone to flagrant foul injuries.

The WNBA will do it to themselves. More people are talking about the yapping than the playing, most Sportswriters are writing about the yapping and not the playing. When Kaepernick opened his yap the NFL lost some audience, although not much, and has since gained it back and then some, but it took 5 years. And the 'BLM' crap was mostly player union driven, not NFL driven, and you saw what happened when 'normal' players fought it - they were attacked in the locker room and in the media (Drew Brees), and all Drew said was 'ALL lives matter'. I tend to avoid watching players or teams that open their yaps as opposed to just playing the game, no matter what sport it is. IDIOTS have not learned people watch sports to ESCAPE all that BS - if we wanted to watch that BS we'd watch CNN or read the NY Times....

MLS is no longer aired on TV right? It's all streaming. The only way WNBA will be turning a profit going forward is their TV deal. They lost money last year afaik even with all the hype, but that's due to a bad TV deal they were still under contract with. The player CBA is up this year so they better get what they can now. I think they will end up like MLS and go to streaming in 5-10 years and not be a regular on ESPN. ESPN has been subsidizing so many sports via TV deals and loses Disney money. Basically anyone with cable subscriptions or gives money to Disney somehow is part of the absurd TV deals ESPNs gives these sports. Without that and if ESPN has to operate independently we wouldn't see this amount of money dumped in it. I wouldn't be surprised if the executives at Disney just keep pushing to get rights for their sports so them and their friends can rub elbows with the athletes courtside/paddock side at the expense of everyone else that uses a Disney service.
