Hi all, I’m new to the forum as I bought my 308 gtsi earlier this year and it is a project car. I’m enjoying using it and fixing (or trying to fix) the jobs as they arise and so far so good, nothing has been too major. At the moment I’m working on an oil leaky distributor cap and seals. I’ve bought what seem to be the right bits for the model but the seal I took out seemed wrong compared to that which I intend to fit. HOWEVER, the new seal looks very delicate for squeezing into the housing as it is metal and appears to need to go in backwards. My question is, is this correct? Here is a photo of the parts.

Thanks for any feedback that can be offered, Sammy

Had the same thing... it's probably the correct seal.

Thanks for this. I just hope this fixes the oil leak and it doesn't turn out to be the bigger problem of the camshaft o-ring.

I hope so too for your sake, if it's the o-ring you have to pull the cam. Mine had to be drilled out. I didn't feel confident doing that myself so... it's expensive :/
