surprising about the price? too cheap or to expensive? this car needs a lot of work and parts and you not know what is with the engine, gearbox and so on. so I think those 77k is too much. I would have payed not even 40k for this car and I can do all the work by myself. so this one who owned the car now has to be a very good mechanic/technician or must have too much money to waste
Bat - more batty not possible. Right there with the moldy one and the silver/red blown head gasket one. Maybe the buyer's a youtuber and can monetize the "pain", otherwise money pit.
Too expensive. I bought a slightly neglected Mondial a couple years ago (like an idiot) and it was a costly pia to get it sorted. It was nowhere near as bad as this TR. The description says it was parked after it overheated, that probably means the engine is toast. Out of curiosity, I asked my mechanic what it would cost to rebuild my TR’s engine and he said $45-50k. However, in my experience costs are usually higher than the estimate so I would guess a proper rebuild $75k? If the gearbox is also bad, maybe another $25k?
