Happened to get delayed and found myself driving my ‘88 TR at night. The low beams were akin to candlelight, so I reckon it was time for an upgrade. Searched around here and I see mentions of the Hella H4 Halogen kit and swapping out to LEDs and the Holly/Morimoto retro bright ($800 for 4 units, polycarbonate lens).

Has anybody tried this kit from Octane Lighting, $200 for 4 glass classic look lens with both LEDs and halogens. No wattage spec on the LED and if there were I wouldn’t believe it anyway

I’m tempted to wire the both lamps with hi/low (as opposed to the OEM high only inner lamp), but I suppose it would fry the fuse board connectors with added current draw.

I also see one of my “fog lights” (daylight flasher or whatever Ferrari calls them) is not working and on popping the puppy out, I see the seal has failed and it’s the corrosion around the socket that is causing the issue. The inside is also tainted. Given that it’s a NLA part, has anybody opened up the fog light for a cleaning/refurbishment? I see two screws that looks like it may allow the internal reflector to detach, but I’m not sure I’ll be able to extract it outside or put it back.

Finally, what bulb/base is it, and perhaps a LED replacement may help brighten the daylight flasher?
