456M Wiper Blades and shaft question

The 430 wiper arm is the closer one in the picture. You probably wont be able to bend the 456 arm effectively. Perhaps you can pull it off and move it 1 or 2 splines on the pivot. Mine was really tough to remove. Between the hood in the way and not wanting to put pressure on the windshield, it was an easy swap, but risk if breaking something much more expensive seemed real. The 430 wiper arm was cheap too

I see one for $95 which is not cheap for what it is but, it is cheap compared to what it can do to my carbon hood. I think that I will try shortening the existing one first, I can weld it. If not, I will splash out on one.

 

Okay, that's a no go, the existing one is a cast piece that probably won't weld.
