I've heard more than once that Phil Bachman was quite upset that Preston Henn refinished his FXX in Giallo, as PB was supposed to have the only (original) Giallo FXX.

 

So when do the catalog images come out? Have always dreamed of this collection being photographed professionally.

Yes, It s possible that Preston received his car in Rosso Corsa then afther change it,

 

It's documented and well-known that Preston Henn's FXX (chassis 144880) was originally finished in red and that he had it refinished in yellow...

I suspected that was the case. I have many pictures of it and was just looking at it a week or so ago and feel stupid for not looking at the odometer. I knew it has all the original gauges. Its one of the few Phil actually drove.

 

PB wrote a book on the FXX program called Ferrari FXX Inside Out. It was with Ferraris cooperation and includes many photos taken during his and his fathers running the car in events around the world. A number of pictures with Schumacher and his FXX. It was published in 2012. His wife did some original artwork of FXXs. I have both in my collection.

 

yes his son recommend me to send him some pictures of their car at this time. Your lucky to have this books! I have the FXX registry (I do them myself with photoshop) but it s a lot of work to paint each cars with all details .

The pricing is just starting . As they say just warming up now.

 

Last international auctions was madness, I notice big collections are selling whatever the reasons: death, inheritance, other reasons... In the end, they are selling.

 

They are mainly for death.. no other reasons I can see.. death comes to us all.. the new owners will keep them for another 30 plus years .. No living collectors are selling only buying., I have helped many collector friends this year acquire cars.. they will never be sold in my lifetime.

 

And yet, for them to sell, there has to be buyers...

As they say in the art business, markets are maintained by the never-ending 3-Ds - Death, Divorce and Debt...

 

So true.. One buyer has been relentless, buying everything for sale , all grade A., no question cars., All being stored in various different countries in trust for their children. Over 100 million has been spent in the last year., None of these cars will be seen again for at least 20 years.,

 

Yes I have heard the small Formule of 3 D, exellent resumen.
Last month I have seen another collection for sale, a lot of variety cars: Chiron, MC Laren sabre, solas, etc I don t know the owner motivation.

 

We can including another D motivation: Discomforts (illness - desgusting)

 

The only cars that have been of interest are Ferrari F cars and rare air cooled Porsche. There is nothing Grade A for sale this side of the pond at present

 

There are beautiful cars currently for sale, Bentley R-Type Continental Fastback Sports Saloon by H.J. Mulliner
Some Rolls-Royce, one Phantom 2...ex Marahadja. Ect.
Old ladies makes a collector very advised person.
