At the moment, air conditioning is one of the things that costs could rack up quickly if I try to do a Modena setup. I don't want to go electric air since the BTUs are only a fraction of a belt driven compressor. I'd probably do OEM compressor, evap, lines, dryer, etc... but I'd like simpler electronics so that it can be toggled from the control board like the other switches (maybe a 1,2,3 for fan speed of the AC and on/off for compressor clutch).

For those asking why I don't just take a Modena and do a build off it, while I can do that, going after the specific look I want (NGT) is currently looking like it will run >$50k based on current day pricing and that doesn't cover enhancements to the brakes or get you a blueprinted engine. Frankly, given the going rate these days of Challenge cars, it's cheaper to harvest parts from a Challenge car onto a Modena and then sell off the remainder. And, I want it to be red. NGT doesn't look as good on yellow, so I'd need a red Modena too, lol.

For those saying this will be terrible on the street...yeah...to some degree in existing form...but, I don't plan on keeping it that way. I'd raise the suspension to CS height or so, put MCS dampers that are similar to what the GT3RS guys use, do a custom half hoop in the rear like what gated360 did, replace the steering rack with a road going version, add in AC and probably put a Capristo twin sound so I have valves. Parking brake will probably be done via a line lock. Brake ducts would probably have to go in current form and replaced with something slimmer to allow for full steering lock.

Is this ruining what a Challenge car is supposed to be? I don't think so. Most of these are sitting in some collector's collection not being driven at all. This is going to be a more hardcore version of a CS. Think of it as a GT3RS of the Challenge car where I can drive to the track with it and drive back home.

I own a 3 road-registered Challenge cars, a 360, 430 and 458 - quite possible to achieve.

The biggest hurdle in the process is the time and effort that is required and much less about paying a huge amount of money.

And I can assure you that driving a Challenge car on the road is a total blast, and you focus on performance and driving dynamics, not Bluetooth connectivity and posing.
